In 1990 after becoming a totally changed man with a different meaning to life, he met Kamal Silva for the first time who was a drug addict who used to be seeing around Tiranagama Beach, Hikkaduwa. Soon he picked up a few others as well and started to rehabilitate them of their addiction to drugs. That was the start of Brother Raja's journey and mission to change the lives of those who had gone astray due to various reasons faced in their lives.
